Our story

We bake before sunrise so Lahore doesn't have to

Golden Crust Bakery is a Lahore bakery that bakes breads, celebration cakes, pastries, patties and nan khatai every morning at its Central Bakehouse in Kot Lakhpat, then sends them to three branch counters in Gulberg, DHA Phase 5 and Johar Town for pickup, café seating and delivery across Lahore.

Who we are

Golden Crust Bakery is a neighbourhood bakery for Lahore, built around one simple routine: bake before sunrise, fill the counters before the doors open, and sell what was made today. We bake loaves and buns, whole cakes and slices, croissants and puffs, chicken and beef patties, sandwiches, nan khatai, cookies and cake rusk. Our three branches in Gulberg, DHA Phase 5 and Johar Town are where you pick up, sit down for a cup of doodh patti, or talk to us about a custom cake. Everything is mixed, proofed and baked at one place: the Central Bakehouse in Kot Lakhpat.

This website is a demonstration store powered by SmartPOS Hub. The bakery, branches and products show how a real Lahore bakery would run its online shop; orders placed here are not fulfilled.

How does a Golden Crust day begin?

It begins in the dark. The early shift at the Central Bakehouse, Plot 17 Industrial Estate, Kot Lakhpat, starts long before the city wakes up. The first job is dough: milky bread and brown bread are mixed and left to rise, sourdough that was fed the day before comes out for shaping, and trays of burger buns and dinner rolls are portioned by hand.

While the bread proves, the pastry bench gets busy. Laminated dough is rolled for butter croissants and chocolate croissants, puff pastry is cut and filled for chicken puffs, vegetable puffs and patties, and apple Danish are glazed. Cake sponges for the day — chocolate fudge, black forest, pineapple cream — come out of the oven and cool before they are filled and finished with cream, ganache or fruit.

By the time the sky turns grey, the first batches are boxed, labelled with the bake date and loaded into our vans. Each branch gets its own run, so a loaf on the Gulberg shelf at opening time was usually in the oven only a few hours before.

What else happens at the Bakehouse?

The Central Bakehouse is our production kitchen, not a shop. Alongside the daily bake it handles:

  • Custom and celebration cakes — names, messages, chocolate drips, fresh fruit and photo prints are finished here to the order sheet from your branch or our website.
  • Wedding and tiered cakes — these get a dedicated slot on the schedule, which is why we ask for seven days' notice.
  • Biscuits and dry bakes — nan khatai, chocolate chip cookies, almond biscotti and cake rusk are baked in batches, cooled fully and sealed so they keep their crunch.
  • Trade and bulk orders — offices, schools and event planners can collect large orders here by appointment only. There is no walk-in retail at Kot Lakhpat; please use the bulk orders form or call the Bakehouse on +92 42 3511 9900.

Our three branches

Each branch has its own personality, but all three share the same counters of fresh bakes, the same recipes and the same freshness promise.

Branch Address Phone Good to know
Gulberg 45-B Main Boulevard, Gulberg III +92 42 3575 1100 Pickup counter, café seating, custom-cake consultations
DHA Phase 5 112-CCA, DHA Phase 5 +92 42 3718 2200 Pickup counter, café seating, late opening

Opening hours, live "open now" status and directions are on the branches page.

Gulberg

Our Main Boulevard counter is where many custom cakes start. Bring a photo, a theme or just a guest count and we will sit down with you, sketch a design and work out the right size. The café tables fill up at tea time with chai and patties.

DHA Phase 5

DHA Phase 5 stays open the latest of our three counters, which makes it the branch for a late birthday surprise or a box of pastries on the way home. Questions about custom and wedding cakes can also be directed to this branch's line.

Johar Town

On Khayaban-e-Firdousi, Johar Town is built for speed: order online, choose a pickup slot, and use the drive-up collection to grab your order without parking.

What do we believe about baking?

We would rather tell you how we bake than make big claims about it.

  • Baked today, sold today. Fresh-cream cakes, sandwiches and pastries are made for the day. Bread and dry bakes carry a bake date so you know how long they will keep.
  • Real ingredients, plainly labelled. We list what goes into each product and the main allergens on every product page and on our allergen information page. Our kitchen handles wheat, eggs, milk, tree nuts (almonds), soy and sesame, so we never promise an allergen-free bake.
  • Honest sizes. Our whole cakes come in 1 lb, 2 lb and 4 lb, and our custom cakes guide explains how many people each size serves, so you do not over- or under-order.
  • Prices you can see. Every price on this website comes live from our till system, the same one our counters use, so the price online is the price at the branch.

How can you order from us?

  1. Browse the shop — start at cakes, breads or biscuits, or use search.
  2. Pick your branch and time — choose pickup at Gulberg, DHA Phase 5 or Johar Town in a 30-minute slot, or delivery inside Lahore. Same-day pickup orders close at 6:00 PM.
  3. Add your personal touches — a name or message on a cake is free; drips, fruit and photo prints are optional extras.
  4. Pay the easy way — cash on delivery, pay at pickup, or bank transfer.

Our freshness promise

If something you buy from us is not right — stale, damaged, wrong or not as ordered — tell us within 24 hours (the same day for fresh-cream cakes) with a photo, and we will replace it or refund it. That is the whole promise, and it applies whether you bought at the counter or online.

Questions

About the bakery

Where are Golden Crust bakes made?

Every loaf, cake and pastry is made at our Central Bakehouse in Kot Lakhpat Industrial Estate, Lahore. The early shift bakes overnight and vans take the bakes to the three branches before opening. The bakehouse is a production kitchen, not a shop.

Why do you bake in one central kitchen?

One central kitchen keeps recipes, quality and allergen controls consistent across all three branches. It also means every branch gets the same morning bake. Branches focus on serving, packing orders and coffee.

Is Golden Crust a real business?

Golden Crust Bakery is a demonstration business used to show the SmartPOS Hub website and till system. The branches, products and prices are realistic examples, but orders on this site are not fulfilled. No money is taken.

What makes your bread different from supermarket bread?

Our breads are baked fresh each morning and sent straight to the counter, rather than packed for a long shelf life. Our sourdough is made with a natural starter and no added yeast. Fresh bread keeps for days, not weeks, which is how it should be.

What does Golden Crust bake?

We bake breads, rolls and buns, whole celebration cakes, slices and cupcakes, croissants and Danish, puffs and patties, sandwiches, nan khatai, cookies, biscotti and cake rusk. We also stock a small range of dairy, grocery and party items. Hot chai and coffee are served at the branches.

Does Golden Crust use SmartPOS?

Yes, every branch till, the bakehouse and this website run on SmartPOS Hub. Prices, stock and opening hours on the site come live from the same system the counters use. That keeps the online shop and the counter in step.

Can I visit to see how the bread is made?

The Central Bakehouse is a working kitchen and is not open for tours. You can see the morning bake arrive at any branch from opening time. Trade customers visit by appointment.

Who writes the Golden Crust journal?

The journal is written by the Golden Crust bake team at the Central Bakehouse. Posts cover practical topics such as cake sizes, keeping bread fresh and planning Eid tables. Each post shows its publish and update dates.
